If there is one thing I have learned since I started investing, it is that the market never tolerates human arrogance. The journey of accumulating Bitcoin has been more than just a financial strategy for me; it has been a path of discipline, teaching me patience and humility.
1. Beneath the Floor, There Was Always a Basement

"This has to be the bottom, right?" I remember the conviction I felt when I broke my savings account to buy Bitcoin, certain that the price couldn't go any lower. But the market, as if mocking my certainty, dropped even further. What I thought was the floor turned out to be just the ceiling of a much deeper basement.
I spent two to three months staring at the negative numbers on my screen, feeling an overwhelming sense of gloom. I spent many nights staring at the ceiling before falling asleep, wondering if I had made a terrible mistake. The time spent in that cold, dark basement made me feel incredibly small and defeated.
2. Limitless Euphoria and the Flutter of Numbers
When the market finally began to rebound—almost like a miracle—the memories of the basement vanished in an instant. As the charts climbed without end, I was filled with euphoria.
I found myself pulling out my phone at every spare moment just to check the numbers. My heart would flutter every time they ticked upward, and I would lie awake at night, thrilled by the thought that these numbers would become my entire future.
At the time, I didn't realize that the deeper the euphoria, the colder the season that follows.
3. Facing Winter Again: How to Endure the Cold
Now, I am once again passing through the biting cold of a bear market. The numbers have shrunk, and the market has grown quiet. However, I am facing this winter with a different mindset than before.
How should we view Bitcoin as an asset? My conclusion is that Bitcoin is not just a "number to buy and sell," but a "vessel that holds time."
- Paying the Price of Growth: The gloom of the basement and the flutter of euphoria are simply the "tolls" one must pay for Bitcoin’s growth. If you cannot endure the volatility, you do not deserve the fruit at the end.
- Focusing on Value, Not Figures: The numbers on your phone change with the market's mood, but the intrinsic value of Bitcoin—its digital scarcity and decentralization—remains unchanged.
- How to Survive the Winter: Live Your Life: Paradoxically, the best way to survive winter is to step away from the charts. Focus on your daily life, read books, and spend time with family. Nurture your own "Vitality." If you live your life to the fullest, spring will arrive before you know it.
Conclusion: Winter Always Gives Way to Spring
The despair I felt in that basement, after breaking my savings to buy in, is exactly what made me stronger. This cold winter is simply a process of turning me into a more resilient investor.
We are all passing through our own winters. But remember: the sun rises only after the coldest dawn, and the trees that endure the harshest winters bloom with the most beautiful flowers. I send my heartfelt support to all the "Dodam-Dodam" (steady and brave) investors who are silently weathering this season.
